Lobster roll with creamy lobster salad in a toasted bun, garnished with herbs and lemon.

I brought that whole coastal fantasy straight to my kitchen. Once I got that buttery bun toasty and packed it with tender lobster, crisp celery, scallions, and a bright hit of lemon, it was game over. That creamy mayo and kick of Old Bay? Just the right touch to tie it all together. It tastes like vacation, looks like you put in serious effort, and takes less time to make than it does to find parking near the beach.

Ingredients for lobster rolls

Lobster roll recipe ingredients.
  • Cooked Lobster Meat – Tender and sweet, it’s the star of the show. I like to buy pre-cooked frozen lobster meat for this recipe.
  • Celery – Adds a fresh crunch and balances the richness.
  • Mayo – Binds everything together and adds creaminess.
  • Scallions – Bring a mild onion flavor that brightens the mix.
  • Lemon Juice – Cuts through the richness with citrusy freshness.
  • Hot Old Bay Seasoning – Gives it a little spice and that signature flavor.
  • Fresh Dill – Adds a herby pop that makes everything taste fresh.
  • Butter – For toasting the buns to golden perfection.
  • Split-Top Hot Dog Buns – Classic for lobster rolls, they hold the filling and toast up beautifully.
