Ground beef stir fry is that girl: quick, bold, and endlessly customizable. You know those nights when you’re staring into the fridge like it’s going to tell you what to cook? This is the answer. It comes together in under 20 minutes, is a one-pan recipe and tastes like you ordered out but better, cheaper, and sassier.

Key Ingredients:

- Ground beef: The star of the show, juicy, fast cooking, and full of flavor.
- Green beans: Adds freshness and crunch to balance the rich beef.
- Garlic: You already know, garlic sets the tone.
- Red pepper flakes: Brings that little heat that makes you go “mmh!”
- Ginger paste: Adds warmth and a zippy kick.
- Sesame oil: Just a touch adds that signature nutty flavor.
- Soy sauce: Salty, umami goodness.
- Hoisin sauce: A sweet, savory glaze that ties it all together.
- Honey: Adds a whisper of sweetness to balance the spice.
- Shaoxing wine (optional): Deepens the flavor, but it’s still poppin’ without it.
- MSG (optional): Boosts umami and makes it taste like takeout.
- Salt & pepper: Always.
- Scallions: A fresh finish that makes it pretty and flavorful.
Faqs for this Ground beef stir fry
Yes, just thaw and pat them dry before adding to the pan. They won’t be as crisp as fresh ones but still delicious.
Cook the green beans with oil in the pan for 3-4 minutes before browning the beef. Remove and add them back in later.
It has a kick! You can reduce or skip the red pepper flakes if you want it milder.
Absolutely! You can use ground turkey or chicken for this as well.

Ground Beef Stir Fry
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 oz green beans, fresh, cut in half
- 4 cloves garlic , minced
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp ginger paste, or fresh ginger minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ c soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp shoaxing cooking wine, optional
- MSG, optional, a small pinch
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Scallions sliced
Instructions
- Heat a wok or pan over medium high heat and add the ground beef. Brown the ground beef while chopping up into smaller pieces. Once browned, drain the liquid formed from the ground beef. I like to use a paper towel to soak the liquid up.
- While the ground beef browns I like to mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and honey in a small bowl.
- Add in the green beans to the ground beef and stir around for about two minutes. Add the red pepper flakes, ginger paste, sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and honey. As well as the shoaxing wing and msg if using. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper.
- Stir all the ingredients together very well and let cook for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the scallions. Serve, eat and enjoy!

Notes
- This recipe will result in crunchy green beans. If you want them softer and a little more charred I recommend cooking the green beans for about 4 minutes with some oil before cooking the ground beef. Remove from the pan and then add the green beans back in later on.
