- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 oz green beans fresh, cut in half
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp ginger paste or fresh ginger minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ c soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp shoaxing cooking wine optional
- MSG optional, a small pinch
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Scallions sliced
Heat a wok or pan over medium high heat and add the ground beef. Brown the ground beef while chopping up into smaller pieces. Once browned, drain the liquid formed from the ground beef. I like to use a paper towel to soak the liquid up.
While the ground beef browns I like to mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and honey in a small bowl.
Add in the green beans to the ground beef and stir around for about two minutes. Add the red pepper flakes, ginger paste, sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and honey. As well as the shoaxing wing and msg if using. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper.
Stir all the ingredients together very well and let cook for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat and stir in the scallions. Serve, eat and enjoy!
- This recipe will result in crunchy green beans. If you want them softer and a little more charred I recommend cooking the green beans for about 4 minutes with some oil before cooking the ground beef. Remove from the pan and then add the green beans back in later on.
