How to make Honey Garlic Chicken Wings
First, I season the wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a light dusting of cornstarch to get that perfect crispy skin.

Then, I fry them up until they’re golden brown and irresistibly crunchy. Trust me, you’ll want to munch on them even before they hit the sauce.

Now, let’s talk about that sauce. In a small saucepan, I combine honey, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, garlic, and a touch of soy sauce. Once it starts to bubble, I add a cornstarch mixture to thicken it up. The result? A sauce that’s sweet, tangy, and has just the right amount of kick. When you toss the crispy wings in this sauce, it’s pure magic.

Top these bad boys with some fresh chopped scallions for a pop of color and flavor, and you’re ready to dig in.

Yes, you can bake the wings at 400°F for about 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
They have a mild kick from the red pepper flakes, but you can adjust the heat to your preference.
Store leftover wings in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.

Honey Garlic Chicken Wings
Ingredients
Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken Wings
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tbsp Scallions chopped
Sauce
- ⅓ cup Honey
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp Red pepper flakes
- 3 Garlic cloves , minced
- 1 tsp Soy sauce, optional
- 2 tbsp Water
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- Frying oil, vegetable, canola or peanut
Instructions
- In a frying pan begin to heat up oil for frying on medium heat. The oil should be at least 1 inch deep.
- Clean & pat dry wings and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and a dusting of cornstarch. Mix everything together and set aside.
- Once oil is ready for frying, begin to fry the wings. This should take about 7-10 minutes. Flip occasionally so the skin gets crispy and golden brown and the chicken is 165 degrees internally.
- While the wings are cooking, start to make the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat combine the honey, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, garlic and soy sauce. Stir until it starts to bubble.
- Mix together the cornstarch and water before adding to the sauce. Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and stir. Reduce the head to medium low and let the sauce thicken. It shouldn’t be runny but not too thick. When dripping from a spoon it should have slow drips.
- Toss the wings with the sauce. Add fresh chopped scallions on top. Eat and enjoy!
