They are made with juicy ground beef, sweet caramelized onions, and melted cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls. I love making these for parties, but let’s be real sometimes I just want a tray of mini burgers for myself.

There’s something about cheeseburger sliders that makes people lose their minds. Maybe it’s the buttery, golden Hawaiian rolls. Maybe it’s the juicy, seasoned beef smothered in melty cheese. Or maybe it’s the fact that they disappear from the tray in record time. Whatever it is, these sliders are always a hit.

How to make hamburger sliders

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a baking sheet. Sauté the onions in olive oil and butter until caramelized a little, then remove from the pan.

Brown the ground beef, drain excess fat, and season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom half on the baking sheet. Layer on the beef, onions, and cheese, then place the top half of the rolls on top.

Press down slightly, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 10 minutes until golden and melty.

Yes! Assemble the cheeseburger sliders ahead of time, cover them tightly, and store them in the fridge. Bake when ready to serve.

To reheat the sliders, I like to just pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds, If they were cold, microwave for about 45 seconds.

Cheeseburger Sliders

These cheeseburger sliders are made with juicy ground beef, caramelized onions and melted cheese on soft buttery Hawaiian rolls. Perfect for parties, game day or lunch!

Ingredients 

  • 1 Yellow onion , thinly sliced
  • ½ tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Sliced cheese
  • 1 pack Hawaiian rolls, 12 rolls
  • 2 tbsp Butter, unsalted, melted
  • Sesame seeds, optional

Instructions 

  • Move one of the racks from your oven to the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large pan, add the olive oil and melt butter over medium heat. Add in the onions and cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • To the same pan add the ground beef, turn the heat to medium high and brown the ground beef. Just brown, don’t worry about cooking all the way through. Drain the excess fat.
  • Then add the garlic powder, salt, pepper and & Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and cook for about 1 minute. Turn off the heat and set the pan aside.
  • Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half. Grease a baking sheet with butter or oil.
  • Place the bottom half of the Hawaiian rolls on the tray. Top with the ground beef, onions and sliced cheese.
  • Add the tops on and press down a bit. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with the sesame seeds if using. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Serve with your favorite condiments on the side and enjoy!
