- 1 cup water
- Juice of medium sized orange
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar light or dark is fine
- 3 orange peels
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 - 2 tbsp bourbon
- 12 oz package of fresh cranberries
In a small saucepan, or skillet, bring water and orange juice to a simmer. Add in the sugar and stir to dissolve. Add in cinnamon sticks, orange peels, cloves, bourbon and cranberries.
Bring to a boil and lower heat to a simmer. Let cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, add a dash of cinnamon powder halfway. The cranberries will begin to pop and get softer. Remove the orange peels when finished.
Transfer to a serving dish. Let cool then put it in the fridge.
